My Encounter with Hipsters
Yesterday, outside of fenway park, coming back from a Redsox game(which was pretty boring w/ great people watching) I had my own encounter with "hipsters" who were crowding around outside a bar like the hyenas in Lion King( it was intense). I decided that I needed a picture of these guys but then I thought to myself" why not take a mental picture". The best part of their outfits was their distinctive Ksubi like jeans & their actual "The Cobrasnake" t-shirts. Well, here it is:the hipsters

Sales
Stel's, one of the few stores that sells Nom de Guerre, on 334 Newbury St, in Boston is having their pre-sale currently. This means that you can go ahead of time to purchase up all the good stuff; however, you must pick up your clothing on July 7th, the actual sale date. If you are thinking you will go next week( you are out of luck) because it's closed for 4th of July weekend and festivities(They will be too hungover to work). I picked up two nom de guerre t-shirts & an A.P.C. longsleeve polo shirt. They have some dress shirts, shoes, t-shirts, & Acne jeans on sale. The Nom de Guerre & A.P.C. jeans will not be on sale. I asked why: "Because they have like a cult following" replied one of the employees. Everything is on sale for 40% off. The women's clothing is also on sale. The best things on sale are: NDG t-shirts, A.P.C. clothing, & Acne Jeans.
Saks: Currently, has their sale, for whatever no one really knows, on a lot of stuff between 30-40% off.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2008

Alexander McQueen, a fashion prodigy at 16, has revamped his collection better than ever this year. McQueen 2008 looks like he has been going to cafes with Rei Kawakubo, designer for commes des garcons, and gotten some hints with the polka dot theme. However, polka dots are not the only highlight, the real highlight from the show is the awesome yellow cardigan styled with the board-short like print look. Through this collection, McQueen emphasizes the importance of fun, flare, and uniqueness in your "day to day wear". His motif is italicized with the "badass" looking models who seem to have been pumped with confidence steroids.

Jil Sander Spring-Summer 2008
This runway show was just another typical Jil Sander by Raf runway show. Of course, as usual the highlights were the famous Jil Sander - shades of gray, light whites, and the typical blues which helped express her common uses of "classy" fabrics sliced, diced, and made into beautiful minimalistic silhouettes. As usual, the show was about quality not quantity or look. Jil Sander emphasizes that simplicity= success. It's shocking how Raf Simmons can keep his minimalistic values with his shades of color.

Lacoste Sale
Lacoste has announced it's semi-annual sale. The sales will be between 25-40% off of regular priced goods. This is not much of a sale; whatever, I guess you can make what you want of it. Lacoste polos are a wardrobe necessity; however, you can't wear them everyday.

Dover Street Market Sale
As of today, Dover Street Market, fashioniste super store (comparable to Colette), has announced that their spring-summer 2007 sale will begin June 23 at 11 am. I'd suggest getting to DSM early because the best items will be taken as soon as possible. Things to look for are: Commes des Garcons T-shirts, sweaters, cardigans, wallets, & even more exotic & hard-to-find pieces from CDG. Dover Street Market remains one of the stores to find the best swag from luxury brands such as Lanvin, Commes des Garcons, John Galliano, & much much more.

The "It" Bag
Anya Hindmarch's plastic bag has caused quite a commotion in London; however, as of today the bag has caused quite a stir all over the U.S. with it's release. I've never seen a designer have more say on their bag as well. Anya Hindmarch released a couple thousand word statement just to describe to customers: the ways to get the bag, it's environmental impact, where to find(not just the name of the store but listed about 9,000 details), price, & even the most minuscule details describing the "it" bag and ways for all the fashionistas to get their own. The lines were long about an hour & a half if you were 110th or so in line, but even worse for the procrastinators that showed up late. However, if you are desperate for this bag you can pay from 5-12 times the original 15$ price on eBay.
"The bag will be available from all US Anya Hindmarch stores, Ron Herman and Fred Segal Flair for just $15. Due to overwhelming demand purchases will be limited to two bags per customer.
The bag will also be available from Holt Renfrew in Canada for $18 (Canadian dollars).
From 18th July the bag will be available at selected Whole Foods Market stores."- Anya Hindmarch site
